arcboy2006,

The owner's manual says mild soap and water.

I have the light headliner like you do and have needed to clean minor spots from time to time. I have used a mild solution of "Woolite" laundry soap, light rinse, and dry.

Works good.

I have small kids. Baby wipes work great.:smiley_thumbs_up:

I know you are going to laugh but my neighbor who has been a mechanic at a cadillac dealership for god knows how long showed me a trick.
I brought the patty home from a service visit to check the leak, long story short there were greasy prints all over myt headliner... I was curcing and swearing when he brought out a can of break cleaner and a rag. Moistened the rag and the spots wiped right off.

Brake clean is some pretty nasty stuff. It cleans well but I'd be worried about it attacking the material or adhesive that keeps the fabric glued to the foam.

Im not saying to soak the fabric, just enough to moisten a cloth and wipe the surface dirt off the head liner. It evaporates so fast that I don't think it would even make it to the adhesive. I guess I should also have been clear that I don't use it continuosly, more for a real stubborn fingerprint or grease spot..

Ok here you go, my mother used to own an upholstery and I used to replace Head liners on the weekend... Brake fluid will eat the foam backing, it will clean but in the long run not a good fix. We used to use Spray 9 but for a quick fix I would use the Baby wipes... Just be very careful using strong cleaner even lightly in the long term they will eat the foam backing of the head liner

Hey no worries man. I just wanted to point out that brake clean is some extreme stuff and caution is warranted if cleaning soft parts with it.

I have used a steamer on all the "white" headliners in all of my mopars with great results removing grease to chocolate fingerprints. When done they look brand new.

Since most of the wear and tear would probably be on the sun visors, would it be a good idea to remove them and scotch-gard them?
