Hey guys, I got a chip in the plastic molding, drivers side rear door. It's a pretty good chunk, crescent moon shaped, about 1 1/2 inches long, 3/4 inches at the widest point. Anyone have any good tips for smoothing it out a bit?

Just in case you were wondering, a wrench was bouncing on the freeway. Almost got around it... Almost...

Hmmm... that's a good question. I have been thinking of plasti-dipping my molding to keep the color and prevent sun fade. If you go that route, you could fill in the gap. It was more of a brainstorm, not sure if I am actually going to do it or not. Another option could be Line-X... or a new plastic panel

I don't have an answer for repairing your cladding, but I learned after owning a Honda Element, that replacing part of the plastic cladding is a lot cheaper than if it had been made out of metal. That being said, you could probably repair a metal part, easier than a plastic part. Go figure:icon_rolleyes:

A pic of the damage would do wonders... Just sayin'...
