okay, so the jeep.com photos are AWFUL, but check out this video of several different compasses (compii?) slinging sand ... with just a tiny bit of work done to that front end, i'd almost almost kinda consider letting my wife own one to match our patriot ... i'd have to see it in person though (which is a huge step up from my pre-seeing-this-video state, "i'd never ever even think about considering owning a compass") ...

maybe i'm jumping the gun & they'll be unforgivably ugly in jeep showrooms, but somewhere between detroit and production, this thing started looking like a cross between the 2006 rav-4 (in a good way, whatever that means) and a range rover sport (seriously) ...

p.s. someone with infinite money supply should go here (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4004620497826716269) and buy the 5 compass videos and tell us if any are worth watching, any mention of fuel economy, off-road ability, and most importantly any mention of the patriot. (you've gotta be itching to see the compass, guys, the interior is identical to the patriot's + they have nearly identical exterior dimensions).

Thanks for posting. It doesn't look as bad as I thought. I think it will be a pretty capable vehicle. I am anxious to see one on my dealers lot.
