: Drove a Patriot home last night!!

Did we manage to locate and purchase the loan Patriot in Seattle? We spied it on a lot near our home the other night, stopped to take a look (the dealership was closed by then) and called the next morning to express our interest. We brought it home last night and I can't believe it is sitting in our garage! It is our first brand new car and our first Jeep. My parents owned a Cherokee Sport for several years and had nothing negative to report. Dad was disappointed that it wasn't towable, otherwise he would have replaced the Cherokee with a Patriot (he told me about this forum).

We bought it at what used to be Huling Brothers in West Seattle--it is now George Gee. No, unfortunately, they only had one Patriot on the lot and we didn't ask if there were any more on the way. We feel pretty fortunate--right place and time. :)

I will post some photos soon. Unfortunately, it is spring in Seattle and it was windy and rainy all day, so it certianly isn't as clean as when we left the dealership.

It is an automatic, but I really wasn't aware of the engine shifting as I accelerated. Honestly, I prefer to drive a manual transmission, but my husband leans toward an automatic because of the stop and go traffic during the commuting hours. I didn't have a chance to really "punch it"--traffic on I-5 doesn't usually allow that kind of acceleration. It did great on a couple of steep hills in downtown Seattle. Other than that, I spent too much of today in slow traffic. :(

We are still on our first tank of gas, so I don't have a good sense of mileage yet, but I will let you know what we got with this first tank.

If ya wait for a nice day in Seattle to take pics, we will never get to see it...:) A jeep is supposed to be dirty anyway.
