: 2nd Hand UK 07 CRD LTD - What should I get \ check
I am due to be collecting a 2nd hand CRD Ltd on the weekend and found your helpful site.
Silly question, but what do these come with I should be checking I have when I collect the vehicle and where should I be checking for them.
Torch
What tools do they come with etc..
Thanks
harold 01-04-2012, 09:16 PM i think our CRD's are the same as yours
if so then (on our Sport not Ltd)
...torch (part of rear light in roof at boot)
...spare steel wheel
...jack, jack handle, towing eye
...roof rails
...4 x wheels, glass in windows, and seats (leather in your case)
enjoy it
how many miles?
Roll away luggage cover.
Cruise control, heated seats working.
Ball joints in good shape, stub axles not too much corrosion.
Great vehicle, have fun.
just over 25K miles, so plenty left for me to fill :D
Thanks for the info, I also wanted glass in roof, but someones made off with that as I don't have that added option on mine :p

Only had a test drive, so really looking forward to a proper go. Bit of a different vehicle than I am used to and the prospect has me more excited about this than any other in a long time.

Is this something I can check visually or more a noise \ driving feeling to look out for?
dixiedawg 01-05-2012, 08:32 AM Some of the older sun roofs leaked anyway, so might be better without. I second the "check the front end parts" opinion, ball joints, etc.
tiptronic 01-05-2012, 11:17 AM Check service record ( Every 9.000 miles for CRD ) so yours should be coming up in 2,000 miles . Just check , if the fuel filter hasnt been changed yet, to make sure its done at 27,000. ( preventive maintainence ) Check turbo pipes are a good fit . Early doorlocks were a bit iffy & defective ( froze up in sub zero temps ) , but UK dealers knew about it . Had mine replaced with non defective items , cant remember now if under warranty or a recall , but I didnt pay ......

Jack the front end up and grab the wheel at the top and he bottom and check for play. If it's got an MOT then you should be OK.
Take the wheels off and see if the axles are badly rusted. Not a big deal unless you need to change the CV joints and then you just use a nut splitter.
It is coming from a inde dealer and they have given it a full MOT this week for me, so should be all OK, hopefully. It comes with their 3 month warranty, and we have a VAG mechanic in the family, so should be alright, but all great info.
Thanks
We picked her up on Saturday, so have had a few days now and I must say I am even more impressed with the vehicle and especially the 2.0 Diesel engine.
Loving the Boston Acoustics system!

harold 01-09-2012, 03:36 PM i'm sure you will, but PLEASE change the oil at recommended intervals, using the right spec stuff
ENJOY !!!
was all the glass fitted? ;)
All glass present and correct :)
I just need to decide on which EVIC settings I prefer now and have a play.
We have a 9 month old and going to the back door to get him out of his car seat and the door being locked is starting to get frustrating. I either need to change EVIC for this or program myself to hit the door unlock button on exiting the car.
tiptronic 01-10-2012, 07:23 AM Remember on the EVIC ....Metric is Metric ....Switch to US & you will get Imperial not US galls ...this is the way it was formatted for UK spec Pats . Rear child locks should be a just a click with a screwdriver on the rear door locks . ( I could be wrong so check your handbook )
harold 01-10-2012, 05:23 PM with our 2 little 'angels' we have the doors to auto lock (once up to speed) and auto unlock when either front door is opened or when the remote is pressed....works for us
they still can't reach the handles, so we haven't changed the physical locks yet
