Has anyone ever tried replacing the original anntena on the Pat with something similar to the one used on the 08 Liberty or Dodge Nitro?? Probably woundn't look the best up front but at least it wouldn't get ripped off in car washes.

Some folks have put on "shorter antennas". I've only been through the wash once and no problems with the antenna, actually it was on so tight I couldn't get it off since I didn't have a wrench, but another option would be is to take the antenna off before getting it washed.

I'm one of those that put the black stubby plastic antenna on mine and have not had any problems at the car wash.

Car was wash never a problem,
first it was stolen
then the metal adapter rusted and only way to replace it was to change out entire antena assembly

I love the Euro Patriot antenna

i bought a short antenna,i broke it off in the garage....so i cut down the stock antenna and painted it black.... i then took the plastic tip of the broken antenna ,heated it up a little and stuck it on the cut down antenna .....i live out in the country and all my local channels still come in as clear as before...its been thru the wash several times no problems ...looks pretty sweet to
