Yesterday I stopped at the dealership and I saw this Patriot with the colors of a private security company. I like how it looks!

And last week a saw a classic Jeep. I only took 2 pictures that don't show it very well, because I wanted to show it standing next to my Patriot. I don't have a clue of what model it could be, but it said Jeep on the side.

Hope you liked the pictures.

Looks like an old CJ. Don't know what model though.

Awesome Jeep though, I'd love to find one in good condition to just bang around town in. But that also means finding a couple more grand per year in my paycheck...

That is a CJ3B. The taller hood is for the valve in head motor that replaced the flathead motor.

I like the Patriot in Yellow!

If the old jeep is a true military, it is an M38-A1. Used from '53 until M-151 was put into full use in the 61-62 time frame. And as jeepstr67 stated it is "valve in head" well, sort of: It's an "F head" with the intake valves overhead and the exhaust valve still in the block. Not sure when fully overhead valves were used i the military. Anyone out there know?

When I was in Korea in the '61 time frame, we were on the DMZ, other military operations had this M38-A1, but as we were "expendable" we still had the plain M38's, the flat head four--with a two page instruction on how to destroy the unit so that the enemy couldn't use or canibalize usable parts. I never got/had to do that, but always wondered if I really could destroy a usable mechanical device...
