Go to Chrysler Financial and hit the Incentives link at the top for the most up to date rates. I got my 2008 at 1.99% on a 48 month term in May.

I would not put too much stock into the 0% financing.

Ultimately the purchase price increases or some other incentive is replaced to account for that rate.

Nothing wrong with waiting for the 2009, although all the changes are to the interior. You will also be wating for at least 4 months.

I would focus on obtaining 5% off MSRP and try not to let them wow you with that 0% stuff unless you really really need it. Consider taking the lower purchase price and going to your Bank too.

Wait a bit buddy...with the slow market right now, Chrysler will have to follow GM with their 72 mounths/0% financing. Be patient, it will pay off.

I just bought a 2008 Patriot 10 days ago. We were able to get what we wanted (Green, 5 speed, North) and we love it so far. We are just waiting for the $1000 Federal incentive cheque now, we got the provincial $1000 off the provincial sales tax, and we're happy.

I'm guessing that $1000 Fed Incentive cheque is only for the 5spd man tranny eh?!

not sure but I called transport canada eco-rebate and they said that 2009's are NOT elgible.

So like the above poster said, I am in the same predicament. Either I get the color I want and get a 2009, or get a 2008 and $1000.00 from the gov't/

Hey kdx -- current rates on 2009's are what Chrysler calls "STANDARD"..this means about 8.78%. There's only $500 off them from Chrysler Finance (CF), then whatever the dealership can do for you.
Speaking from my 5 short years in the business of selling Chrysler/Dodge/JEEP product, here's my $0.02. Okay..maybe even 4 or 5 cents...it's kinda slow in the dealership this morning :P
As mentioned above, 0% is really not all it's cracked up to be...taking a discount on the price and paying interest leaves you with a lower amount to be financed, which can help you in the long run. Yes, you'll pay interest, but any loan you get should be an open one, meaning you can pay it off at any time without penalty. So, the quicker you pay it off, the less interest you pay. Taking 0% with no discount means it doesn't matter how quickly yo upay it off...you've still paid more.
Essentially, the manufacturer "buys" the low interest rate from the lenders....OR they give the consumer the cash. Very rarely will they do both.
Is there a major difference in payment between '08 and '09? Not terribly....but there will be a selection difference, and the dealers will be more likely to kick in higher discount on the '08s' ... especially with the refreshed '09 interiors.
WILL CF cave in and go with 0% ? Who knows....they really don't tell us anything ahead of time...really! :) They may continue to push the power of cash discounts...we are all trained to believe that 0% is the greatest thing out there...but I've shown way too many people how their payments are the same with a "high" interest rate and considerable cash rebate. You really are better off to take the cash...but since it's nearly the end of the month...you may as well see what September brings, because you don't have much time to make a decision that won't leave you feeling rushed.
Keep us posted on how it goes -- and go check out an '09 to see what you think of the interior :D

I relize now that jeep chyrsler are back in the stone ages when it comes to financing, im going to have to bite the bullet and get the best deal off the msrp and pay the 8% or what ever it is for financing. it just stinks that i have to give the bank money. At least they could be a little more competitive with there finance rates. I would like to pay 0% who wouldnt. anyway im making a deal this weekend and custom ordering an 09, wish me luck , i hope by the time i make my deal the intrest rates will go down , or not thanks for you feed back johnnyb happy driving
