: It's SNOWING!
MrMischief 09-14-2011, 10:11 PM Well at least it was. Ran up to Bill Moore Lake, Colorado today and ended up trying to out run a snow storm on the way out. So just an FYI, pack your winter gear if you're heading out this time of year.
While we were out there we stopped in at the Empire Hilton on Mill Creek. Could make for an exciting and cheap date night if you don't mind the long drive/hike.

It's stocked with a bit of food, a stove, some cut wood, plenty of blankets and such. Just leave it better then you found it. Apparently there's a bear in the area, so be sure to close it up tight when you leave.
And... Bill Moore Lake.

Is the "Empire Hilton" open for everybody?
Can't wait for the snow to start falling around here. Changing from summer to fall is my favorite season change of the year. Plus I want to try my new Pat in the snow! Fall... football, chili, bonfires, etc!
jepstr67 09-15-2011, 07:58 AM Yay! Snow!
dixiedawg 09-15-2011, 08:37 AM Cool, more folks who like winter. Some people think I'm nuts, but I like winter better than summer. My fave seasons in order are: Fall, Spring, Winter, Summer.
croat 09-15-2011, 09:22 AM I dont see any stinking snow!
On another note - the ground was white from frost this morning :(
I like summer and than winter - I hate the transitional times of year.
Tater's Dad 09-15-2011, 09:29 AM Fall is my favorite time of year.... Warm days, cooler evenings... apple picking... making pickles, etc... we are still a little ways away from snow. Still 10-14 days before we have any heavy frost.
I used to love the winter, but after last year, I could do with a whole lot less snow.
jepstr67 09-15-2011, 10:39 AM I'd go Summer, Winter, Spring, Fall. I really hate fall! Everything dies and drys up. The sun seems to constantly be right in my face due to the low angle. If I stand in the sun I roast, if I move to the shade I freeze. I could just skip fall all together and be very very happy.
croat 09-15-2011, 10:44 AM True - springs nice (towards the end, not the early depressing cloudy rain season) as everything is warming/thawing and coming to life. I like end of fall (November) cause it means hunting for me is here and its cold enough to clean things up from summer.
dixiedawg 09-15-2011, 10:47 AM I love the fall foliage, and the new crispness in the air, I finally feel like I can do physical work outside without dieing from the heat. I can turn the A/C off in the house too, and I really do prefer the fresh air coming in the windows.
I'm also a hunter too though, and fall is the beginning of hunting season. Archery starts at the beginning of October, and the other seasons come in soon after that. Actually the early Goose and Dove seasons are already in.
I'm out shooting my bow as much as I can now.
soflatechie 09-15-2011, 10:56 AM You people who like summer are nuts. I am in Florida. I sweat like a pig if I am outside more than 20 minutes. Bring on the winter.

mrJeepr44 09-15-2011, 11:00 AM I love snow. I am still probably 5 months away from seeing any, and I would have to drive 4 hours just to see that
With any luck, I'll move some place snowy this winter
dixiedawg 09-15-2011, 11:02 AM I used to love to downhill ski too, so always looked forward to winter for that. I have bad knees now though, and downhill is out, but I still do cross country.
croat 09-15-2011, 11:43 AM I hate when the wife opens up the window at night and you wake up in the morning freezing! She calls it fresh air - I call it refrigerating our room (37 degrees last night)!
I guess thats why I try to never turn on the A/C in summer - I'd rather be hot than cold.

Our bow season starts Saturday - so we will see a few deer in the shop this weekend from the early start (hopefully more than less since its very cold out). I have time only this year to go gun deer and maybe some small game with my 4 year old boy (need to teach him young).

Ah yes .... Florida, America's Armpit :pepper:
jlobaugh 09-15-2011, 03:30 PM Mmmm, Snow. Here, in the "mistake on the lake", the snow can fly as early as mid-October. The lake got pretty warm this year, so we could be in for some fantabulous Lake-Effect goodness.
I can't wait to get out and play in it with the riot.
croat 09-15-2011, 03:46 PM Oh, its snowed here in September!
But yea normally 1-2 weeks into October is when I witness snow.

Ignatz 09-17-2011, 06:26 PM No snow here, but I have to cover the tomato plants at night.
Sandstone, those are some gorgeous shots!

Agreed!
makes me want to come out there and go with you.
No snow yet, but had frost a couple nights. Starting to put up wood for the winter now, and had a fire in the fireplace over the weekend.
