Check out Allpar's page on the Liberty....lots of spy shots (including a mostly uncovered preproduction unit):

And I am glad for it. Jeeps are supposed to be boxy. The Liberty should of looked that way from the begining.

The Liberty should have been similar to the current Patriot, but built on a truck platform. DCX would have had a homerun on their hands. I would like to say it would have had two solid axles, but I'd be spitting into the wind.

Or they could just offer Selec-Trac on the Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited, and they'd make the whole world happy.

Be nice now... I drive a "cute ute" every day - it's been a very good vehicle

I'm looking forward to the 08 because they are improving in all of the areas that I have problems with (powertrain, suspension and cargo)

I feel that: In the minds of the engineers at Jeep - the Wrangler now satisfies all SFA requirements beccause it can be ordered in almost any variety with the JK.

The Liberty should stay IFS to appeal to a much broader range of potential buyers that will undoubtedly compare the Libby with a RAV-4 or a CRV

Is it just me or does it appear that the new Liberty is now just a variant of the Dodge Nitro. The size of the vehicles and the interiors look very very similar....Just a thought. Does anyone else see it too?

I will dance at the day the last bubble Jeep rolls off the line. I have never been a fan of a round off-road vehicle. Rounded sports cars are supposed to be rounded and look better that way.

This looks pretty promising. I can't wait to see some production versions!

I'm not sold on the roll-back roof, yet.

It is obvious that the new Liberty is simply a rebadged Nitro.

The current Liberty needed only a minor tweak to the design... if the body sides and side-glass were a little more upright rather than curving inward, it would've been perfect. IMO. If the Liberty looked like that, MPG-be-damned, I would've sprung the extra $$$ and bought a Liberty.

Refusing to tweak a basically solid original design and simply rebadging an existing one (from a different division) is one of those short-sighted, easy-money decisions that's going to bite Jeep in the end.
