We're going out Sunday to recover the idiot's subaru. Meet across the street from that bar/hotel/dispensary right south of Blackhawk at 8 am. The owner of the car will be with us. Threats of fines and jail time have made this not so "cool" now. He said it is high centered and he seized the motor trying to get it off the trail. Apparently two attempts have already been made to recover the vehicle but both "trucks" got stuck before they could get to him. I don't know for certain that I will go. I swore to stay away from that general area this weekend due to some idiots on bicycles drawing a crowd and closing streets. :icon_rolleyes: However if you want to tag with to join in on the beating.... errr..... recovery, I'm sure you'll be welcome. More bodies are always good for this type of thing. Even if you're just taking photos and helping ridicule the owner, that's still something. Maybe if someone is fast they can make a handful of "I recovered the subaru" t-shirts. :D I haven't seen the road other then the guy's video. I think a Patriot will have no trouble since a Subaru made it, but I don't know for certain so you may want to bum a ride from Blackhawk.

*sigh* I may have posted this to soon. It's turned into a foot race for who can get to the Subi first. I'll update this if I hear it's been recovered. However; even if we don't hear anything no promises that it'll still be there when our group shows up.

We are still on for tomorrow. The import people tried to get it out before CTP and couldn't get to it. A lot of those guys were talking about how they have big trucks so a Patriot on the trail is probably not a good idea.

New meeting place: Fall River Road exit off of I70. The owner tells us he's closer to that than the black hawk side. Still meet at 8am.

Tell me how it goes, sorry I won't be able to make it today, what trail or road did he get stuck on?

So from what I have gathered from the HAI site, the vehicle was not recovered after 2 attempts (one on Friday, and one on Saturday), so I am guessing MrMischief went out today to help get it? Bring back lots of pictures and a video!

He was off of Miner's Gulch (http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=318), I think on a spur road because I've don't know of any place on Miner's Gulch which looks as rough as those pics. Video to come.

It's interesting to see that AWD freewheel as they drag it along... all of a sudden one (or two) wheels has a burst of reverse
