I'm still here, making plenty of noise with my new stereo.

I'm suprised you can't hear me from the Sunny Coast!

Yep, still here! Just picked-up "patriot" sticker inserts from ebay for the rear bumper.

Planning of driving to Nightcap Ntnl park (North NSW), should be an easy track for the riot.

Cheers,

Mark

Hello all,

It's bloody cold and wet here. Can't wait for winter to end.

Hi all, Yeah Im still here too. Just been down playing in the snow for a week. Had the patriot on some really icy roads and some nice fresh snow to drive on. The patriot handled it all well. Saw a few cars get rear ended from the icy roads. I experimented on a few icy sections with no-one around me by jumping on the brakes and seeing how long it would take me to stop. The ABS was going crazy and it still took a while to stop but at least I could still steer. Anyway We had a great week and felt safe in the patriot. On the 7 hr drive home with 4 people, luggage and a loaded roof I averaged 8.6kL/100km on the evic. Excellent!!! (mine is a 2.4 5speed). Here are some pics.

Hi Tasar, Haven,t been to one before but i will look into it a maybe pay it a visit and thanks Europat, the australian snow country is quite unique. I wish I had taken some pics of the Pat buried earlier in the week after a 30cms drop of snow on the first night.

I am still here as well. Just had the 30K service on the CRD LTD and no issues to date (other then the crappy speakers that I must change).

Winter...go away! freezing weather downhere in the nation's capital and with some overnight frosts i've been loving the heated side mirrors in the defrost cycle. Very cool and pretty fast. The CRD takes a little longer on the really cold mornings to warm up, but still performs just like the day I bought it.

nice photos aussiepaul. I live in canberra so visiting the snowies is pretty easy. although this year i just haven't had the time. next year i'm promising some serious snow action. I plan to do some 4x4ing (fire track stuff) up there in the summertime. The dog is very excited!

as for the Jeep Jamboree, i reckon it could be fun. Check out youtube and just type in jeep to see what some guys get up to with their wranglers. serious fun! although i'm not sure i could subject my Pat to the torture. I'll wait until I buy a second Jeep. haha.

Yeah it certainly does lol...it's a great thing in terms of looks but I am really going to have to take the suspension up at least 4 inches to accommodate for the side steps - they are the lowest part of the car now :(

Still look good :P haha

- George -
12-11-2008, 07:02 PM
I've read that only 1 inch lift is recommended but more than that starts to wear out the cv joints quicker than normal. Personally i dont care as i want to lift it 2 inches+ !!
Your right though, the side steps look good, but really are useless as they really are the lowest part of the car and i reckon can get snagged on something real easy if your off road.
