I too will be absent from this online meeting as I and the wife will be stomping around in the woods for Dusty and then attending the resident's association meeting where we are looking for Dusty. Priorities.... Sorry....

Don't fault you for that. I enjoy driving my co-workers nuts singing along with Neil. When I was little while on family vacations dad would play Neil Diamond and Anne Murray tapes while he drove during the night...
those songs are forever burned into my brain.

Have never been to a concert, from what I can tell though his voice ain't like what it used to be. I'll stick to singin' along with his studio tracks on mp3.

Back to topic...

Will this really be worthwhile to "listen" in on?

Read through the whole thing.
Not surprised by the lack of information... "we can't discuss future products"
Not surprised by the "Indian call center" responses... stuff straight out of regular literature with no additional ideas
Not surprised by the disavow to disavow... "we don't recommended modifications"
Not much covered in 2 hours.

I understand they have to be careful not to break corporate rules, but that reminded me of one of my college engineering classes. The professor came in and read directly from the book and added nothing else. I can read the book. The reason to come to class is to get more than what is in the book; life experience, reasons for decisions made, stimulate thinking outside the box, etc.

I only hope that these people wish they could have given more actual information. If they have any actual desire to improve the product by getting information from the people consuming, then at least those that posted questions and comments did not do so in vain.

I think these sessions are a fact finding mission on the part of Chrysler as much as allowing customers to ask questions. I wish we would see more open and honest discussions from everybody. It is frustrating when you don't get the inside scoop when they offer such an environment where that would be appropriate. I do not see the need for such secrecy. It isn't like they are going to release a George Jetson type of vehicle the need to keep under wraps. Of course, what would scare the competition more than that?

The secrecy and dodging must be so that no one can say "but you said..."
Afterall, a few bits of information read by a small group of "Jeep geeks" will spread like wildfire on the web.

2 hours of posted questions/comments with nothing but canned responses doesn't really find nor give many facts.
Now, if there were some sort of all day (maybe several day) Q&A event where everything could be discussed and avowed that would be something to attend (whether it be online or in person).

They sincerely asked what we liked about the current MK's. :) They confirmed the 2009 Compass.

Then they asked what we wanted to see in the future...damn near begging us for input. Did you not give any?

What the heck were your expectations may I ask? :huddle:
