So, I really like some of the pictures I have seen of the Pat with a black front bumper and grille. I am really tempted to just do it, but I would like to know if anyone has tried it or has any input that might help. Thanks!

I have heard of people wanting to, someone had posted a pic on here last year of it. I also want to and decided the best thing is to get vinyl wrap done on the front of the Jeep instead of painting it. This way you can remove it at anytime to return it to factory looks.

@JamesNewJeep I thought about doing that. It's a good idea.

@Mmdambro I will make sure to keep looking for your post of new pictures. Thanks!

perfect opportunity to try plasti-dip. Available at lowes or HD and comes in black and a couple other basic colors. If you don't like it, it peels off all in one piece. Basicly a rubberized type of paint that gets great reviews for ease and clean up, if you screw up, you just try again. when you chip it after a year or so, you can just spray a patch spot over it and it blends in. Look into it. then post pics.

@rarichard: I plasti-dipped my U-bolts for my roof rack. I didn't know it came in a spray formula. I will look into it. I found some cheap flat vinyl on ebay, but I am still a little nervous about trying it since there are so many curves in the grille and bumper. I'll update once I decide what I'm going to do. Thanks for the info!

Alright guys... I plasti-dip painted my front bumper, and all went well till I went to tear the tape off. The plasti-dip ended up stretching and messing up on only 2 places on the sides of the bumper. I am going to try to do some touch ups and see if I can make it look perfect, and then I'll upload some pics if all works well. If not, I plan on ripping it all of and go for round two.

Bummer, that sucks you have to do it over or touch it up. Hope everything works out, sounds like some of the BS I go through on my Projects. Never Fails.

Wow that look really good. How long did it take you? Are you going to do the rear like that too? Looks like a good alternative to rhino lining.

It took about 5 hours. And no I painted only part of the rear (like the Sema) but I did it with bedliner.

that looks sweet! but more importantly i was looking at those rims. they look like the stock ones on the 08? I have the same ones. but i was wondering what you did to make those rims black?

I bought some Compass chrome wheelskins from sportwing for around $60-$70 and painted them black with bed liner. Oh and I taped them up to look similar to the moto metal rims. Cheap alternative to a way cooler look!

Looks awesome. Just wondering as to how durable it has been?
