Hi Guys

I wonder if anyone knows how to remove the 6 Speed manual gear knob on the UK Pat (if possible)? I've got the Brabus Startech one now to fit (fits Caliber/Patriot/Compass).

I've prised off the silver top cap (which shows the gear layout) but I cannot figure how to remove the gear knob I have pulled it up quite hard but it doesn't shift. In the middle is what looks like a white plastic spindle/spacer perhaps that fits over the actual gear lever?

As usual, a good search of the net yields nothing :-)

The Normal 5 speed just pulls up with a hard pull-----BUT!!! the 6 speed CRD has ( as you know) got a reverse gear lock out collar on it ( needs lifting to select Reverse). So there must be a cable or lever that runs down the gearlever interior & connected to the collar ( under the knob) Also the Startech knob will be of no use to you if it does not come complete with lock out collar( I think) I would certainly get your dealers advice before you go any further or you may und up not being able to select reverse....Just a thought!!
