I had been waiting to trade in my old F-150 for some time, but was waiting to check out the Patriot. I did NOT like the Compass. About 3 weeks ago I checked out the local Jeep dealer and was told they'd be in after April. So last Friday my heating coil went out and I had had it! I happened to check the local Jeep web site and saw they had 1 Patriot in. SCORE! I was in the dealer Saturday morning at 10 am. I was the 1st one there and while I was going over the price people were taking my Patriot for a drive. I closed the deal and drove off with what I have been told was the 1st Patriot in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area!
I got the "sport" 4x4 with with lots of extras for $19,400. Green, A/C, 112v adapter, fold front seat, fog lamps, power windows/locks, cruise, and talked the dealer into buying me some cross bars to put my skis on!
I love the drive...solid and comfy.I went through my 1st full tank and got just over 19 MPG driving around town and thats with winter blend. we have had some crummy weather here and it has handled great!
Its my 1st Jeep and ....and 1st non traditional truck for that matter!

wow, only 19 mpg?
How do you like the CVT? And do you have the Yes essentials cloth? How do they feel?
Thanks!

yea, 19mpg (a little bummed, but with winter blend, only city driving, lots of icky road conditions, and break in time hopefully this will go up). I'll check with this tank and get back to the ya'll.
The CVT is nice and VERY smooth....I don't notice it so much like some purists do. About the only upgrade I didn't get was cloth (My Patriot was the only one on the lot and 1 of 3 in the Grand Rapids area) It had everything else I wanted so I overall I am VERY happy with my Jeep!

Congrats and welcome to the Jeep family. I love being the only 1 in Central Illinois with a Patriot.

Welcome to the Jeep Family! I was supposed to have my Patriot (LTD, 4x4) about two weeks ago... but all this hubbub happened with Dodge and my dealer lost some of their allocations until they had room. It is now back in D1 with a ship date of 3/14--so hopefully it comes through this time.
This is my 3rd Jeep--I drove the 1st 2 (both Wranglers) until they weren't worthy of long trips anymore (about 200K miles)... so I am excited for the change. While I will always have a sincere love for the Wrangler, I'm ready for a smoother, quieter drive. Plus, I'd never buy an automatic Wrnglr and my husband can't drive manual...
How is the new Jeep green? I actually haven't seen a Patriot live and in person yet! I spec'd it off the web and sent it to my friend who works at a Dealership and he put the order in. I ordered the Jeep Green (as always... I am a woman of tradition) and have heard it is really nice.

It's a great shade of green and goes well with the interior. I think you’ll be happy. I know this is my 1st Jeep (I have been a truck guy) but the change has been really nice, so I can sympathize with you there. I gave up on sticks a while back and have to say I don’t really miss them too much. The CVT on the Patriot is smooth and seamless (you won’t even notice how fast you’ll be cruising!).

that's good to know! I hate automatics! I had a nissan sentra once for about a year after I totaled my 1st wrnglr and couldn't get used to the automatic... my hand would sit on the gear and instinctively move--it was like having a phantom limb...
i try to look on the bright side by thinking I won't get Charlie Horses when I sit in traffic at the George Washington Bridge anymore!
