I've been sleepless over I should get a Patriot or a Nitro,but the more good stuff I hear about the Patriot,and not so good about the Nitro, I've pretty much made up my mind. I am a major MOPAR fan,so i guess a Jeep is still a Mopar. Iwas wondering about power compared to my PT Cruiser w/5speed,since they both have a 2400cc engine. any feedback? I am getting the 5 speed in the Patriot also.(4wd,of course)I'm not too sure of that rubberband transmission. I just have to convince my wife to get one now instead of in December !!!!

The Nitro is a much bigger vehicle. It is based off the next generation Liberty platform.

So, it is a much heavier and larger vehicle. It is RWD when the 4WD is not engaged as well. It also comes with the 3.7L V6, so even with the added weight, it will most likely have more power then the Pat.

Either way, they are very different vehicles....I'd go with the Nitro if you need the extra space, otherwise...you can't beat everything you get for the price on the Pat's.

Don't forget about the horrible gas mileage that you WILL get with the Nitro / Liberty vehicles.
