Has anyone removed the silencer from the rear of their CRD Patriot and made a straight through pipe set up?

I have done this on my Tdi engined Discovery and 90 with good results, albeit slightly noisier!

As the Turbo is an effective silencer anyway I'm looking at just either putting on a straight through pipe to the rear or having a very small silencer almost at the end of the pipe.

Any thoughts or pics from anyone who has done this?

Have looked at some of the mods over the pond but they tend to use a larger silencer than I want and obviously on a petrol motor.

I have done this on a Bora. Went to a 4" pipe as quickly as possible. It's neat to hear the turbo spooling up!

Absolutely! Don't think I'll go to 4", probably just cut off the rear silencer and add a pipe at first, if I feel a bigger bore would be beneficial and not too loud I'll go for it!
