: Patriot Party 2008?
jeep_creeper 06-12-2008, 08:16 PM Anyone in the Mid-Atlantic, PA riot owners, got your ears on? interested in doing a Patriot trail run. I know a little spot, that will handle stock Pats considered to be a "GREEN" level trail. That means your stock Pat will handle this trail without any mods. Granted, I'm not so sure how the 4x2 Parts or the Compass guys would do.
The place: Green Ridge State Park, located just outside of Cumberland MD, right smack off of I-68. They got an 18 mile ORV trail for our Riots, and a plenty of camp sites for a Pat Party. Here's a link to the park http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/western/greenridge.asp And here's the link to the trail map: http://www.dnr.state.md.us/outdooradventures/greenridge_ORVmap.pdf
No date set, just gaging interest. :Racing:
I'd be interested, but much of this year is already pretty booked for me with buying a house, getting married, and a few other small weekend getaways. The wife would murder me if I spent any more money on a Patriot adventure... Maybe if it's in the fall or early next year.
jeep_creeper 06-13-2008, 04:58 PM I didn't make a date or anything. I was wondering if people would be interested, and picking a trail that would not totally cripple non-heavy modded trucks, so at the very least I was thinking fall or spring next year due to time constraints on trying to organize something.
pump_3a 06-14-2008, 03:52 PM Where's Green Ridge???
butch81385 06-17-2008, 11:48 PM It's in Maryland. Looks to be about a 2 hour drive from Harrisburg, PA, 3 hours from Pittsburgh, PA, and 4 hours from Philadelphia, PA.
Also 2.5 hours from Washington DC for those south of there.
I would absolutely love to do this! I would be in for making a weekend (or at least a Saturday to Sunday overnight) out of it. Just some Pats, some friends, some beer (for after the driving), and some fun!
butch81385 06-17-2008, 11:58 PM Here is a good overview of the trail including a sweet video compilation:

Sounds good to me... Like I said, a fall type meet would be best for me.
BarryB 06-19-2008, 04:29 PM I would be up for it, but do not want to scratch any paint. How hard is the trail?
butch81385 06-19-2008, 05:45 PM If you watch the video on the link I posted it does not look very hard, just fun. There is also the stream crossing depending on water levels.
jeep_creeper 06-19-2008, 05:48 PM Seems like more Hell No. Guess not everyone is comfortable or secure in their Pats as the few of us who aid yes are.
From what I know of GR is it's a green level baby trail rated as a 2 or 3, on the scale. semi-glorified fire trail/access road.
d3xt0r 07-06-2008, 01:42 AM It may be obvious from my pictures, but I go off-roading in the Patriot quite a bit. I'm a bit rougher on mine than a lot of you folks probably are on yours. I imagine I'll break it before I tone it down. Regardless though, I've forded a foot and a half of water (Above the bottom of the doors by a couple of inches), sloshed through a foot or more of mud, over rocks 6-10 inches out of the ground, and quite a bit of other things. The trail here, from what I can see, is pretty tame to what the Patriot can do. The 4x4 is unstoppable, as I've tested on a loose sandy beach, deep mud, water, etc etc.
mymtpatriot 07-08-2008, 01:41 PM Go for it guys! Here are a few pics of what my stock 4x4 Riot tamed in CO. No scratches, no dents and no brokens, just a lot of fun and great outdoors! You just have to drive accordingly. I watched the posted video and did not see anything a stock Riot couldn't handle. :pepper:

cairn99 08-23-2008, 07:41 PM Probably yes given enough notice.
jepstr67 08-23-2008, 09:37 PM Sometime we should have a national meet here.

jeep_creeper 08-24-2008, 08:13 AM Good for a nation group meet, a bit far for a Mid-Atlantic Saturday meet.

That would be a great idea... Geographic Center of the Contiguous United States is a perfect place for that...
KenDawg19 08-28-2008, 01:17 AM Even this New Yorker is interested depending on what date you set!!!
BWheeler 09-02-2008, 11:36 PM With the help of coordination and proper notification there is big possibility that this will push through...
Especially if many are willing to participate...
Weatherman 09-03-2008, 01:03 PM Any more info on this? Im only in the area another month, but id love to throw the stock wheels back on and make a hike up to Maryland for the weekend. (Im refusing to offroad with 20" rims) I leave Virginia on the 30th though so let me know.
Weatherman, you leaving VA for good?
Weatherman 09-03-2008, 06:34 PM God i hope so. Let me run it down for you. In a community like mine in the Navy, there are but less than 10 places to be stationed. Im leaving for school which is my big chance to get out of here. There are 4 commands in the building i work at in Norfolk, 2 in san diego. 1 in hawaii, 1 in japan, and 1 in germany to work at. If i leave school and come back to Norfolk my chances of staying here my entire career and jumping around within the building are great. Now is my one chance to leave the area and hopefully Hawaii here i come:D
jeep_creeper 09-03-2008, 08:37 PM I was trying to gauge interest but I do not think it would be all too hard to get things going on it. Note Ga\aze is also planning a meet and greet within a pretty close are to to what I was thinking of. You can see his posts here: http://www.jeeppatriot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3598
phatdilf 10-28-2008, 08:51 AM much to far for me good luck with that gettum muddy
d3xt0r 10-28-2008, 09:41 AM With a big enough confirmed turn out, I'd make the 10 hour drive to hit a good trail with a lot of Pats.
