Just got an Email from Jeep UK, its all about the Introduction of the 2011 Compass to the UK...Not a lot of Info , just pics & a load of advertising blurb. I registered myself to be kept informed.
At the same time the phone rang & it was the salesman from my dealer. I Told him it was strange that I just got a Compass mail & then he phones me.
He said Compass should be launched in UK April 15th, & he is sending me an Invite to the preview show on the 10th.
He said the range will be Sport Plus & Limited also a 70th Anniverary Edition. He said there should be both Diesel & Petrol versions & later a 2 litre manual version . This will be a new 2 litre engine , not the old VVT World engine & be available with 4x2 & will be good on price, economy & emmisions.He told me
Patriot will be dropped in UK 2012--13.
He has no news of a replacement. I asked about a new smaller Jeep to slip in under Patriot /Compass . He did not have a lot of news , but told me anything smaller would probably get FIAT badges in UK & sold through their dealerships.
Come the summer the new Chrysler Ypsilon & Delta will be available UK.He seemed quite upbeat & commented that there are a lot of exciting changers about to happen....lets hope so!!

Interesting. Will have a look at the Compass out of curiosity once there are in the showroom but the Compass pictures have not impressed me so I am still happy having recently bought the Patriot.

Had an email to say 2011 Compass launched today.
May have been interested in this until I read reviews on US site Best Cars - it rated the new Compass only 17th out of 23...very poor. Patriot faired no better at 20th!
I'm sticking with 1998 Cherokee diesel until it's uneconomical to repair..that may not be long, done 70k miles.
May go for Skoda Yeti next, remarkably like glimpse of old Cherokee design?..this is what the Cherokee could have been.

Yeti is nice , but small . It has rather a cramped interior & 4x4 versions are expensive for a small car. However you do get immaculate build quality & a good sales/service network.
