We are planning our annual trip out west to Colorado and Utah. This year, we will be heading out the first week of May.

Again, in Utah we will be hitting Moab and southeastern UT, around the Valley of the Gods. What a fanastic area with incredible views.

We want to hit Ouray, CO this year. Last year, we were snowed out from getting to Ouray. Known as the "Switzerland of America", it is also the "Jeep Capitol of the USA".

Ouray should not have been snowed out, unless it was just a day type of event. Now the county "roads" through some of the higher elevations are another matter....they often are not cleared until sometime in July. If you stay on the state highways you should have no problems.

There is Ridgway State Park just a few miles north of Ouray - if you are "camping", there are tent sites, trailer sites, and places for pull-throughs. Clean, hot showers and flushies. I would highly recommend it!

If you want scenic, try the Durango Silverton Railway - steam engine on a narrow gauge track. Plan a full day for the round trip!
