well i don't own a Trail rated but I own a North FDI 4x4 with the CVT.

I can get about 480kms on 49L if I drive around the city with a light foot. But with a medium to heavy foot I'll usually get about 425kms on 49L. The tank is 51L but by the time the gauge is on the red bar that's when I have about 2L left and I go fill up. And filling up that point is right at the 49L mark :)

Not sure the conversion but In winter I was getting 21-22.5 mpg and since spring I have been averaging consistently 23.5-24.5. I'm a conservative driver and really never use the AC

I have a trail rated and I do mostly Highway driving. I average about 25-27 MPG when I keep it at 110 KPH (470KM from full to the fuel light coming on). It was a trade off between milaege and the trail rated badge. To me, it was well worth it.

I got 550 kms on a tank last week. That was highway driving at 105 kph (secondary roads0. I use scangauge and as a result have changed my driving habits to improve mileage. Usually I get about 475 with mixed city and highway driving. I know I could get 6oo kms on a tank if I were on a divided highway using cruise at 100 kph.

I have driven a 2008 Patriot North FDI 4x4 for 7 months and find the following:

500km/Tank City
625km/Tank Highway

I have been tracking since I purchased the Patriot. The updated method of testing done by the US Department of Energy is quite good:

US Fuel Economy Testing (http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/findacar.htm)

Below are my real life results:

damn... living in the city and going through rush hour traffic really does take a toll on my fuel mileage now that I can compare numbers with you guys. Oh well... still gets pretty darn good mileage. I'm going camping this weekend and all my driving will be pretty much highway so lets see if I can get what you guys are getting.

07 trail rated with 7500 km on it.

12.2 L/100 km in the city (stop and go traffic, with lots of hills in Vancouver)

on the highway, I once got 11.9 L/100 km with cruise @ 100 kph on a flat highway.

I get around 400 km per tank in the city, and don't do enough highway driving to notice much of an improvement.

The tank's small, but the milage is much better than my '96 S10 Jimmy was.

If you're concerned about milage, don't get an FDII. I mostly commute in the Pontaic Vibe.

I have the 07 Limited with Trail Rated and FDII and all that stuff.

I have two modes of driving: gas-guzzling which I do most of the time and econo-mode when I am on just a leisurely drive.

In gas-guzzling mode I am typically 12.5 - 12.9 L/100km (GTA and its 400 series highways at 120kmh)

In econo mode I am 10.1 - 11.0 L/100km (Highway 11 steaming toward Huntsville at 90kmh with Vespa scooters giving me the finger as they inch by me)

These are all EVIC readings with the EVIC never reset from day 1.

To give it all some sense of cost, Barrie Ontario is about 100km from my house. Getting to Hwy 400 and then exiting at Essa Road at 1.30/litre will cost me about $16.25 while in econo-mode the cost is about $13.13. So, there is a saving of about $6.00 on a round trip. The reality is that maybe, maybe there is about 10 minute shorter drive in gas guzzling mode.

At about 110kmh the mill is turning ~3000rpm. Below 3K the mileage improves. Over 3k rpm and I get a thank you card from Petro-Canada.

You should expect 10% better FE with the FDI CVT over the FDII and another 10% better for the FDI 5-spd over the FDI CVT. Every driver is different, but that's my estimate based on so many off these "What's your FE" threads.

I have been getting 425-460km before my my low fuel light comes on which would be about 44L. I drive very agressively. There are plenty of CVT owners getting better than I am, but I doubt they see redline every day and drive 125kph with occasional bursts up to 160kph. I conserve when I want to, but am overall pleased with my FE.

I have the 2008 FDII
I'm using syntec. oil plus K&N Air Filter and I'm doing 9.7L/100 KM.

I've been trying to keep my acceleration under 3000 rpm even on the hwyways. The best milage I got is 9.1L for 100km and probably clinched 430km in one fill which would be the best results I got. I usually drive 50/50 hwy and city.
