Even if a member has a gallery on-site, I still would recommend posting pictures of all contestants in the first post. Um, so, is this just a photo contest? I mean, everyone just wants to see photos of the nominee's Patriot. Don't get me wrong, those who've won the POTM have deserved it thus far, but if it just about what your Pat looks like and how many mods you've done, this is gonna get dumb for those who keep their Pat stock and don't mind some trail damage. Personally, I'd like to see a write-up PRIOR to voting, not just about what mods people have done, or how they've cared for their Pat, but what they've done for JeepPatriot.com and how they've spread the Patriot spirit, trips they've taken, etc. And a photo that embodies the Patriot spirit, not just a freshly washed driveway photo (they're pretty, but at least take it somewhere interesting for a photo, doesn't have to be off road). I know, I know, more work. BUT, if someone is going to get the POTM distinction, they should have to do a little work for it, right? Perhaps we have the nomination period begin fourteen days before voting and end 8 days before voting. At that time, those with the most nominations (top four) should submit their write-up and the photo of their choice (prepared ahead of time) to someone who can make the write-ups consistent in appearance. Then, the write-ups will be posted to a server somewhere in PDF form with the links placed on the voting thread. People can click on the write-up to make their educated decision on who to vote for. Voting would then commence with 7 days remaining and end the last day of the month. Whew. In the spirit of providing a solution to the problem, I'd be happy to create a sample write-up and maybe some consistent headings for people to follow. I wouldn't mind hosting the PDFs on my server as well. I'll get to work on this and post something soon.
