Dr. Z. GM and DCX in "high" level talks about possible merger, which would include the Jeep brand. This would be absolutely the worst case scenerio for Jeep, in my opinion.

Of course, Bob Lutz, who is head of GM, was head of the Jeep Division of DCX until his departure a few years ago. There have been rumors of a Hummer vehicle to go head-to-head with the Wrangler, but nothing has surfaced so far.

Dr Z. is probably angry that no one liked his commercials.

The Bob Lutz connection is key, as you rightly point out. He knows where they can be combined to save money.

I highly doubt that this would happen. If there were a merger, GM and Chrysler would have too many competing products which would make it even harder for the company to make any money.

If Chrysler has another merger, it'd be with a company that doesn't have a large footprint in the USA

FOX news is reporting today (2/19) that D-C intends to auction off Chrysler.

Hey I agree. It would be stupid for GM to take over Chrysler and for the very reasons you have indicated. Also GM has enough cash flow problems of its own. I don't think Honda is big enough. Hyundai has enough problems of their own. Renault/Nissan has a full line. So Who?
