Looks like the new head of VW wants the Tiguan to be redesigned. Apparently, the production model loses a lot from the concept shown.

On a side note, is it possible they want to compete with the Patriot in capability as well? I bet a lot of companies are going to consider taking runs at the "most capable in its class" title in the compact market.

The design discussions could also have a big effect on the Tiguan. The striking Land Rover Freelander rival made its first outing as a concept at last year's Los Angeles Motor Show. It was expected to hit dealers in 2008, but is now in limbo while it is reassessed by the fresh regime.
