Apparently, the new Compass will be both "Trail Rated" and cost a lot more than the 2010s. Nobody knows why it will cost more.
Allpar is saying it will probably just have the Freedom Drive II CVT transmission. I, personally, wouldn't be willing to pay more for the Compass than Patriot without a big change, like a better drivetrain or vastly improved interior. I sat in a Patriot recently and thought the 2011s were fine. So why Jeep is changing costs so much is very odd.
The only thing I can figure is that maybe Allpar is wrong about the transmission and that it will in fact get FIAT's dry clutch transmission. Regardless, I was wondering what the Compass fans on these forums think about the change.
