Hello Jeepsters,

I wanted to let you all know that I have recently sold the website to Autoguide.com (http://autoguide.com). As many of you know, I haven't had the time to invest in maintaining the site in the way it or you members deserve. I'm positive the great folks at Autoguide.com (http://autoguide.com) will give JeepPatriot.com the attention it deserves and will be much more responsive to issues that arise from daily use. They have a vast number of resources and their tech group is a bunch of auto enthusiasts as well. The best of both worlds!

Autoguide.com isn’t planning any major changes and are only really taking over the technical duties at this point in time. They are also welcoming the current moderator staff with open arms (Gaze and crew are still your go-to guys). So this isn’t goodbye for me, it’s just a turnover of control for the better of the community. Basically, it will still be the same JeepPatriot.com that you know and love, but now with a lot more resources going on behind the scenes. This will benefit the members of JeepPatriot.com in many ways, both visible and in ways you might not even take into consideration (faster and more stable servers, etc…).

Our new tech contact will be a gentleman by the name of Dwayn who will be using the handle “administrator”. He will be monitoring everything moving forward, and he is also a motorsports enthusiast, and interested in photography.

With all that said, I want to thank you all for being the best group of people around! This community is definitely unique in more ways than one. You have built this website into what it is today, the most successful Jeep Patriot community online. I appreciate everyone’s enthusiasm and commitment to making JeepPatriot.com one of the most helpful communities I’ve ever had the pleasure of being a part of. I am certain that you’ll welcome Dwayn and the rest of the folks at Autoguide.com as openly as you welcome all new members of our great website.

I am really looking forward to seeing JeepPatriot.com grow into something even bigger and better in the coming months and years!

Thank you, everyone for all you’ve done in creating a true community full of memories and friends. Here’s to many more years of success for JeepPatriot.com!

Sincerely,

Anthony “DMAG”

This really is a great forum. It is the first forum I have ever found worthwhile enough to join, and contribute where I can (As I do not have a jeep [yet]). Thanks DMAG for running a great site, and Welcome Dwayn

well, that didn't take long to get a new ad banner on the top. Keep them simple and subtle like that Dwayn, and I might not ad-block it.

Anthony,

Thank you for your support in these almost 5 years this site is running. I joined in 07/12 and believe me, I continue logging in with the same joy and enthusiasm as in day 1.
For us Patriot owners, JeepPatriot.com has become THE BEST reference site and meeting point, a nice place where we can share our opinions, advice and experiences.

A warm welcome to the new crew, you have something very valuable in your hands...

Thanks again Anthony.

Sincerely,
Pepe

This is truly one of the better online forums and I hope it continues. Even if the politics do get a little heated some times.

Just a small gripe. I tend to be full of them these days:) I do most of my forum-ing(if it wasn't a word before, it is now) from my droid. In the last two days the amount of space taken up by ads has doubled, and page load times have tripled. I now have to scroll halfway down the page just to get to the topic. I was curious if there is a way to decrease the amount of ads shown for people who are site supporters? I fully understand that ads bring in revenue to keep the site running, but so do membership fees. If someone doesn't want to invest $25 dollars or so for a lifetime membership, by all means bring on the ads. But maybe a few less for the people that have paid to be here. Also, the banner at the top of every page suggesting that you should become a site supporter should go away once you actually do. These are just a few thoughts of mine. I really enjoy this forum and the fact that its one of the best ran, best organized, and best moderated forums I've ever belonged to. I just hate to see it get junked up and full of things that effect its usability and appeal. Like I said, these are just a few suggestions and i welcome feedback for or against them.

Thanks DMAG, and all the admin folks. And Welcome Dwayn!

We like photos, and there's a thread for just great photos, without Jeeps in them, several for off roads shots, and even one thread for pet photos. So show us some of yours Dwayn.

Anthony I believe I've known you since our days of chatting on Allpar.com in the "LX car" section! You are a class act, and did a great job with this site.

I'm an admin on another AutoGuide site. They will bring you guys new sponsors and increased traffic, and otherwise they will mostly stay out of the way. It's good for everyone.

Welcome Dwayn!

Tanks David! Appreciate the kind words.

That's why I felt very comfortable handing the reigns off to AutoGuide. Great resources and a history of success with other websites. I'm sure they will bring great things for JeepPatriot.com while allowing it to still be a site run in the same way it was. :)

Congrats DMAG, I hope they paid you well. You deserve it! :)

Does this mean that I can feel less guilty about the banner at the top asking me to support? (for the record I have already donated in the past :) ) :p

Welcome Dwayn! I hope you are active on the site, even if it is just in community type threads. I always like when the "guy in charge" of the site is visible on the site :)

I have only been here for a short time and I love the site, Thanks Anthony it has made owning my Patriot even more fun. I have noticed that people who own MOPAR'S ( yes, I am lumping Jeeps into the MOPAR catagory, Roadrunners and Cudas dont deserve all the attention ) are very knowledgable about and dedicatited to their vehicles which makes things nice when talking to them and visiting this site. Hello Dwayn, and good luck it looks like you have some big shoes to fill, but I am sure you will have fun doing it.

x2 on this. I have been beating this drum over in the paid subscribers thread. It would provide an additional incentive for members to pay up and the site owners get their money faster than waiting for one member to click $25 worth of ads (if that ever even happens). It's a win-win!

Also, the banner at the top of every page suggesting that you should become a site supporter should go away once you actually do.

It would only make sense!

Hi there new admin.
I see the Autoguide banner and another (random ads banner I guess) under it in my language (Greek) of course...

I noticed the ads were gone on the pc, but when I use my phone(like right now), there is an ad under the autoguide banner and one above the box to type a reply in. I'm not sure what the difference is. Its possibly just something with the way the browser on my Droid works, who knows? Thanks though for making use of the suggestions! Now if we could find out a way not to have every page remind me 2 seperate times to be a site supporter...:) Thanks again Dwayn for the good work!
