Just found this forum by Google :D because I am looking for honest reviews of the Compass and the Patriot. Other Jeep forums are a bit "old school bias" which is fine for them and I won't smack them for it but I need more info as I consider upgrading in the next year of two to one of the new model Jeeps.

Presently, I have a 1994 Cherokee which I at present I will run until the body falls off. This Jeep has only 108k miles on it and will be running much pass the time the salt has taken her away from me :( . The wife's vehicle is a 02 Liberty with 82k miles on it and runs like a Jeep :) . As I mentioned before I am considering an upgrade in the near future to a Patriot. We like the looks online but none at the dealers here in UP of Michigan yet and I'm getting a bit impatient :D

Welcome bro, I have found that the compass is more for the street and the patriot is more for the outdoors. If you are interested in a car like the compass the dodge caliber is similar and you would save a lot of money. It is considered a passenger vehicle and it is much cheaper. It is also made by Chrysler. But for me I am going with the AWD patriot. And I plan to soup it up some. if you do like driving on streets more, and you like jeeps than the compass is a good choice.

Patriot has better side visibility with larger side mirrors and windows. Both have the same tiny rear window glass. I've driven both and prefer the patriot. I think the Patriot looks a lot more like a jeep for sure.
