Hi everybody, I'm new to the forum as well as my new Compass. I posted a thread about this issue on the myjeepcompass.com forum but habent received much input so far. I tried to copy the link but am not allowed to post it on here untill I have 5 posts so Ill give you the short and sweet version untill then.
My wife and I recently purchased a 2008 Jeep Compass Sport 2x4 2.0L, it has the cvt tranny. When we test drove it I noticed a vibration when we were stopped in drive, I mentioned the issue to the sales rep and was told it needed a tranny service and would be taken care of. Everything else checked out great on the Jeep and it drove out really nice so we bought it. The dealership serviced the tranny but the vibration issue persisted so I took it back to them to check the motor mounts and have the computer flashed. The mounts checked out fine and they flashed the computer but the vibration was still there. I then had my mechanic check it out and was told it seems like an engine ballance issue. I explained this to the Chrysler dealership and had them check it out again, they gave the Jeep back saying they couldn't find anything wrong with it...
So now I'm stuck with a Compass that vibrates noticeably everytime were stopped at a street light or stop sign and have no idea what to do now. I'm not too happy about this at all and have a hard time believing this is normal for these cars, which is what the dealership is claiming. It has 65000mi on it and is in great shape overall, any input/ideas on what this may be and how to get the dealership to actually fix the problem would be great. It is under warranty through the dealership for 3 months so I need to get them to fix something before that time is up. We have about 2 months left and I'm stuck after having it in to Chrysler 3 times only to get told nothing seems to be wrong.....
