Apparently, the 2.4 World Engine is nothing more than the 2.0 engine bored out....correct? So is it possible to bore this engine out to be a 2.5 liter?

Any machine shop could do it easily, but finding pistons to fit the new bores is another story. You would probably have to find someone that could make custom pistons for you which would probably be expensive. When the SRT4 Caliber arrives this spring Im sure there will be some aftermarket and probably Mopar performance items on the way for the 2.4

I doubt the power increase would be worth the cost, there are much cheaper ways to increase power. If you wanted to get extreme, a turbo would be more cost effective but you have to take into consideration haw much HP the transfer case can handle. I read that the reasonthe SRT4 isnt AWD is that the Patriot/compass/caliber awd trasfer case cant handle that much horsepower.

Given that the block is designed for a blower and thus has larger water jackets, that amount of boring could compromise the cylinder walls. The block is likely stroked for the greater displacement. So, either wait for the blown engine from DC. Or, plan on adding your own turbo/supercharger when the aftermarket catches-up.

x3 wait and see what comes out.... Turbo, etc. :D
