We purchased our Patriot in August 2007. Currently it has 6500 kms on it.
In February we noticed a power steering leak. After visiting the dealership
is was supposed to be fixed. Very shortly it started to leak again and this time very badly. We had to wait a week for service and by that time
the rack and pinion was gone. We waited 11 days for a new part and only
5 days of rental car was covered. $315.00 later it was fixed.
Here we are three weeks later...it is leaking again... once again we
have to wait for service...another week....and we are being told that
the rack and pinion is gone and needs to be replaced again...

To Shane in Edmonton....we experienced the same noise before all this
mess began...and by the way we can confirm others in this
town with similiar problems....

Could be a major defect???

Hey Rocky,

my power steering seems to whine when I turn the wheel almost to full lock. It also creaks like an old rusty door. Did yours do this as well or was it just the leak?
