Not an issue with the car - all good

Got an ipod adapter added - linked to ipod nano works really well

Cost was $572 - Ipod adapter was $276 of that

Anyone else ...share your experience

service at 12,000. oil and filter and rotate tyres and check over ....... £40 labour.

yes it did

Nebcarson - with exchange rate - 90 UK is about $250 A with wheel rotation as well about the same price

out of curiosity, just took mine in to mellville service centre for 7500km and they charge $378 for a run of the mill service.... IS THIS NORMAL??? if so ill get used to it if not ill go else where.

don't know what the law is in the states but in europe there is a law called block exemption for repair of motor vehicles.

servicing can be carried out buy any qualified mechanic or vat rated garage and have to use parts and oils of SIMILIAR quality to genuine. 3 yrs warranty must be given if proper service intervals are followed. techinical info must be given freely by Jeep to anyone.....

my service costs me:
oil-------castrol edge 0W30td £45 $90 US
filter-----MANN HU719/7x £7.19 $14 US
labour £30 $60 US

advised to use castrol edge by mechanic.

I don't suppose it matters either way since we're all in Australia.

If you have Goodyear tires they will rotate them free of charge (or at least they used to). I plan to complete my own oil change.

Going in on the 19/8 for the 10,000km service 3.5 months old.
Got quoted on the phone $320.00.
Does not include wheel alignment or rotation as I just put the ATR Coopers on and I've told the stealer not to touch anything concerning the rubber.

Just had the 10,000km service.
Cost was $5.50 less than quoted.
One minor problem which was fixed. New bottom intercooler hose fitted.

Time to hit the beach again or find some mud now. Its been raining like crazy today. :smiley_thumbs_up:

Just did my 2nd Service @ 25,000 kms for my 1 year old 2.4L CVT Auto Limited @ Chatswood Jeep Sydney

$482 - includes general system checkups, Wheel alignment & balance, engine oil & filter change.

Would like to know if there are any Jeep specific workshops can do it cheaper...

Just got my 1st service 12K/6mnths for 2.4L CVT auto @ Lincorp Service in Camellia, Sydney for $194.80

I got quoted $340 for a 12000km service today.

I told them they're dreamin.

be prepared for the 45k service when they have to change the cvt fluids...ouch

I was initially quoted close to what they've given you but when I notified them that the vehicle is on a novated lease with lease plan, they then gave me the final figure of $194.80. If your going to ask me why the big drop, I really don't know.

You have purchased an import not a local vehicle. The prices that you are getting quoted are about right. Even VW (Jetta TDI) servicing is on the same par as the Pat CRD.

If you want a cheap service take it to Ultra Tune/K-Mart or Auto Masters. I'm sure they will be cheaper than Jeep. But then again do you want someone who has never worked on a Pat to work on your pride and joy?

Better still get to know your rtide and get a manual and try doing it yourself.

And no I do not work for a stealer and am not in the motor industry.
I have owned a crap lot of new cars and have been through all of this.
Just pick up the phone and call places like VW, Holden, Ford, BMW, Mini and find out what they charge for up to 45k in servicing and then match it up against the Pat.

Your novated lease has got some sort of plan in there to off set some cost. I doubt that just because you said the vehicle is on a novated lease that they gave you a cheaper amount otherwise we could all just call Jeep up and say the same thing.

Just because they work at/for Jeep does not mean they are better(or worse) than of the other places you quoted. You are kidding yourself if you think all the guys that work at dealerships are qualified mechanincs. (they're all refered to now as technicians).

And everytime I go to Jeep with a minor issue on my Pat, they always have to get back to me, because they don't know the answer because they don't work on them a lot.


They are changing oil / oil filter and air filter, so i dont see why I should pay double to have a similarly (un)qualified person do the same job.

I agree it's an easy job, just don't have the time to do it myself at the moment (yes I know it's only a 1 hour job).

Yes we are all busy people indeed.
Me I work 6 days a week.

But I'm not giving anyone any more money for an oil and filter change no matter what when it comes to the Pat.

Not sure what your dealer is charging for oil filters, here its $20 for a CRD filter. Oil well thats a personal thing. So many people will say this or that. Its like is Ford better than Holden or Holden better than Ford.

And if your dealer doesn't know how to fix your Pat because they don't work on them a lot what do you think the guy's at K-Mart are going to do?

Just on another note, since I just had my 1st service, I am still a bit disappointed on the fuel consumption I'm getting 12 li/100kms against the advertised 9.6 li/100kms. (Apologies if I have to post this in this thread. I just want a AU discussion against a similar thread wherein they discuss mpg). Again, I am driving a 2.4L CVT transmission (I would have preferred the CRD but wife cannot drive a manual)

g'day reyriot - i get the impression from reading around here on the forum that your fuel consumption gets better as you build up some km's. I've got a CRD, and have been really impressed with the consumption. I average around town of 7l/100. I'm yet to take it on a really long drive.

but, having 12 isn't that bad, especially if it's around town. Still better than most cars. Of course the way you drive plays a big part, and the CVT is certainly going to chew through a bit more.

report back on your mileage after another 1000km. see how it's going then.
