So from what i hear people are strapping solar panels to their roof in the east?
What's going on and why are people jumping on the band wagon about it is there some government repayment plan or something like that?

Solar energy is finally becoming the hip thing to do around here.
Afterall, we only get 360 days of sunshine here. It's not like solar would make sense :D
You see it going up on many many houses and huge fields of the panels going up on the rooftops of the large industrial warehouse buildings.

Well, you also have companies like these guys: http://renu.citizenre.com/
They build and install a system and you pay whatever your current monthly electric bill is now to them instead for like 20 years. They pay the install and maintenance. Imagine locking in your electric for the next 20 years! Score!
Companies in the UK will supply and fit the panels for free. You keep the power generated AND the money you earn from exporting any excess power to the grid AND the panels are yours after 20 years.
The company makes its money by collecting the annual government subsidies.
