A new Service Contract card...along with warranty information for the Mastershiled paint Sealant, undercoating, and rust protectionm they talked me in to.
It's a marvellious thing that they jumped right on this the way the did.:icon_rolleyes:

Yeah I just got one of those too. 6 months late, strange.

It is kind of strange but my Jeep dealer did much the same. The view of the local dealer is that the buggy is not going to rust out if it is maintained. I think he is right but only if I get it oiled each fall (not motor oil but hydraulic oil that won't rot the rubber). The metal moths around here will eat anything.
The powertrain already has a lifetime warranty. The lifetime extended warranty covers the electronics, AC and all mechanicals that arn't covered by the powertrain warranty. Since I keep cars a really long time and commute over 500 miles a week I prefer to "pay for the repairs up front".

After my 3/36 is up I'm going to look into some kind of extended warranty. As with all of my cars, I'm more concerned with the availability of parts for a vehicle that is 20 years old than with the cost. If I have an extended warranty I can hold their feet to the fire to come up with parts.
On the flip side, if this car becomes as popular as I think it is going to be, there will be zillions of parts in junk yards for years to come. Those poor misguided souls who bought a used Patriot without the lifetime warranty.
