Well, thats what one of the salesmen told me in a town near where I live. I did set him straight. I know it happens all the time, but it does bug me when they don't even know the basics of the rigs they are selling.

Yep, the Patriot is caliber based, Nitro is Liberty based (even though the new Liberty will be more Nitro)

. . . and then these jokers want you to pay sticker price they don't know anything about. NOT! It might get better IF Jeep had separate dealerships from Dodge/Chrysler products.

My local Dealership Sales Manager, (yea the guy in charge of the other Sales people!), threw a comment at us while we were admiring the JK after a test drive.
He said, "It's amazing, I love it. And what makes it so capable offroad is the new IFS suspension."
Well,...I had just spent the last hour schooling the sales rep that took us on the test drive, and didn't really want to get into it again. But this guy was insistent on the IFS thing. He did get down and look at the Diff in the front, but couldn't recognize what it was, so insisted on leading me inside to his computer to prove the point. While he was fumbling on his computer, I picked up two of his sales pamphlets to show him what the difference was on the solid and IFS.
I gave them the JKBoard website on my way out so they could learn a thing or two about the vehicles they're selling.
I have a feeling I'm going to be going threw the same thing when they get the Patriot in. My girlfriend is getting a JK or a Patriot.
Can't wait.
Cheers!
Jack.
