: Color options.....what color are you looking for?
frosty 02-02-2007, 07:33 PM I'm not sure what color will be most popular for the Patriot?....I've seen most of the colors but not all....I realize color is a personal thing....I'm thinking about either Jeep Green or Light Khaki for the one I order ....
demolaysgirl 02-02-2007, 08:34 PM I'm almost torn between the steel blue with gray interior and the jeep green with khaki interior. I go back and forth, but am pretty sure that I'll wind up with the blue.
BigDuke6 02-02-2007, 09:41 PM Jeep Green, Marine Pearl Blue or Black
PatriotFan 02-02-2007, 10:41 PM Black / Khaki / Red
MINIcommander 02-02-2007, 11:02 PM 1. Green
2. Red
3. Khaki
4. Silver
(I really don't want to pay extra for paint so I'll probably get Khaki or Silver)

I would check out the steel blue in person, I think it looks different then the website. I saw it on a GC at the dealership today and didn't like it as much. Kind of had a weird greenish look to it.
HighDesert 02-03-2007, 05:52 AM For what it's worth, the color that will show the least amount of marks and
scratches over time is non-metallic white. It's also the easiest to touch-up and considered one of the most visible. The next best, from a maintenance perspective, would be beige or pale tan. In general, lighter colors are lower maintenance than darker colors.
frosty 02-03-2007, 07:55 PM I actually was in for paint work on my mom's car recently and that DC body shop manager told me that just plain black (no metallic) was the easiest paint to touch up or match up if you have to just paint one section (black is black he claimed)....light khaki is apparently difficult to match after a few years.......several surveys have shown that silver is the most popular color for cars in general.....red seems to catch the eye of traffic police most often...... I guess green would be most closely associated with Jeep given its' heritage....
I notice that some colors in the U.S. cost $ yet in Canada, there is no charge for any color...what's up with that?
luigi 02-03-2007, 08:29 PM Hey Frosty,
Shhh! don't make them think about charging for certain colors (ha ha).
For me I think it's the tan or silver exterior. The trims show up more in these colors. But you really have to see the vehicle in person to get a good idea. I saw a limited Patriot at the MTL auto show- it was steel blue. Not to my liking, but it did show up better than on the website.
frosty 02-04-2007, 07:27 AM Luigi,
I'm sure DCX is making up for it elsewhere...
Here's a bit about personality and color choice based on research from Britain....listed in order from most dangerous (most accidents) to least ..apparently black cars are involved in the most accidents.. ..
Black cars denote an aggressive personality or someone who's an outsider or rebel.
Silver cars indicate someone who's cool, calm and slightly aloof.
Green cars can often be chosen by people with hysterical tendencies.
Yellow cars signify someone who is idealistic and novelty loving.
Blue cars are chosen by the more introspective, reflective and cautious driver.
Gray cars represent those who are calm, sober and dedicated to their work.
Red cars denote those who are full of zest, energy and drive and who think, move and talk quickly.
Pink cars are chosen by gentle, loving and affectionate drivers.
White cars represent status-seeking extrovert drivers.
Cream cars are the least likely to be involved in accidents and denote self-contained and controlled owners.
A North American study had this to say...
Based on the DuPont Automotive rankings of most popular automotive colors in North America, here's what Car Answer Book Author Leatrice Eiseman says vehicles are revealing about their owners' personality.
Silver - Elegant, loves futuristic looks, cool
White - Fastidious
Vibrant Red - Sexy, speedy, high-energy and dynamic
Deep Blue-Red - Some of the same qualities as red, but far less obvious about it
Taupe / Light Brown - Timeless, basic and simple tastes
Black - Empowered, not easily manipulated, loves elegance, appreciates classics
Neutral Gray - Sober, corporate, practical, pragmatic
Dark Green - Traditional, trustworthy, well-balanced
Bright Yellow-Green - Trendy, whimsical, lively
Yellow Gold - Intelligent, warm, loves comfort and will pay for it
Sunshine Yellow - Sunny disposition, joyful and young at heart
Deep Brown - Down-to-earth, no-nonsense
Orange - Fun loving, talkative, fickle and trendy
Deep Purple - Creative, individualistic

Okay, that would make me...schyzophrenic.
Actually, I prefer different colors on different vehicles.

I would like to see Mineral Gray as an option on the Patriot (as pragmatic as it might be). :D
