All right, I know I'm gonna get some flack about this, but here it goes....

I want to install some interior lights around the center console, not because it looks cool, not because its what everyone and their dog is doing with their souped up ride... but because I can't see anything at a glance in the center console.... I do not want to plug into my cig lighter, because thats one thing I keep trying to find in the dark, I actually use it to light my smokes! I don't want a big bulky splitter, or to install a switch... what I'd like to do is tap into a wire that turns off when the door opens like the dash, radio, etc.

any suggestions?

I was looking at El Wire and doing some accenting with it around the center console under the arm rest and around the cig lighter, I'm fairly adept when it comes to wiring, I'm just looking for the most accessible wire to get to in order to provide a clean install.

get a shop light and plug it into your AC plug:hammertime:

Mines got an A/C plug right along the front of the console. Why not tap into that?

What about one of those LED puck lights that are battery powered? Just stick one by the console, press and let there be light.

a small night-light plugged into the center console isnt a half bad idea.

I'm considering putting one of those indiglo night-lights in the A/C outlet to light up the center console area...
