FYI...For those interested in the Satelite Radio option. You will need to upgrade head units in order for it to display the Channel Name and Artist/Song. The factory HU does NOT do this.

What about the SatNav?

If you upgrade to the Navigation System you should be fine. Nav requires a higher model receiver.

My friend upgraded to Sat Radio in his Caliber and it did not have the input jack in the front for his MP3 player like the factory HU.

Will we need to worry about this?

i think so ... i know the 6-disc doesn't have one in any of them, including the patriot ... though the 6-disc can play mp3 cd's and the single-disc player (with aux-in jack) can't play mp3 cd's ... man, they just won't give ya everything ...

Yes. I believe the input jack only comes on the current factory head unit. Looks like they forced us to give a little on functionality for a bit of Ipod luxury...

From the Jeep parts site it looks like they have 3 different IPod adapters listed: 2 are FM modulated (no thanks!), and the 3rd is:

82209617AB Audio, iPod Interface
iPod Integration Kit- Fully integrated adapter provides iPod control through your vehicle's audio system controls. For use on models equipped with Can-B style audio systems. Radio functions and displays vary between vehicle model and audio system.

So what exactly would be considered a "Can-B style audio system"?

Is it possible to switch between station and song name with a button press?

I test drove a Ford Escape the other day and that is how you do it on that model.

Is the receiver integrated or if I replace my standard cd-player with the nav system will i need to replace the receiver as well?

The sateliite radio with the navigation system lists the station and song title. The only thing you lose with the navigation system is the aux. jack.

If you don't order Sirius what would I need to install it myself other then a HU and kit? Some may not want to pay $195 if they are going to upgrade the HU anyways.

Wait, so can someone clarify?

Base stereo, does not display any Sirius info?

There is another "base" stereo or is this the Boston Acoustics system? Does it display the info?

The SatNav does display song info?
