: Is this normal on the Pat?

I've been driving my 07 Patriot for a week now and had a chance to let rip on the motorway today. As I reached a speed which some would say was illeagal in the UK for this type of road I noticed the bonnet start to lift and move aboout as if the bonnet latch wasn't engaged. I pulled over to check this out but the bonnet was secure.

Is this normal on the Pat or do I have to investigate further?

Any help or guidance appreciated.

Cheers

Many have the problem, some don't, others solved it, many remain with the problem unsolved. Do a search on «flapping hood» There are many threads concerning that problem.

There are many threads on the subject of flapping hoods and potential fixes, however, I believe this one will be of the most assistance to you:

Sure, there's a flapping hood thread.

But what about the bonnet?

Thanks for links on this subject, it seems that its a common snag and hopefully an easy one to fix.

By the way a bonnet in the UK is a hood in the US but I guess most folks know this....

Seems we need a more precise and concise thread on this with maybe photos of where the adjustments are.

Anyone want to take on this project??

I love the fact that Jam is Jelly & Jelly is Jello---I've noticed that the flapping bonnet problem is more on domestic US vehicles---However your UK/Export version seems to have sneaked through the net.

Biscuits is the odd one for me. When I tell friends across the pond I had biscuits and gravy, they don't understand, cause biscuits to them are cookies to us.

I enjoy the conversations with folks from around the globe. It's fun to learn new things.

I finally ajusted the bonnet... the hood...«le capot» in french.

here is the thread on how to proceed.

Ajustment of hinges is right behind the hinges, (two screws at the bottom)
