Could someone please be kind enough to assist. I need to know the actual usable distance from the rear hatch to the back of the second row seats. I am buying some new bags for camping/mountain biking etc and it would be useful to know this measurement so that I can get the right size kit. Many Thanks.

Santa Cruz - Sorry, been meaning to respond but forgot (apparently everyone else has too). I have the Pat with reclineable back seats and speaker boom box built into gate, and have about 28 inches from back gate to near the top of the seats. You will have a little more (~ 2-3 inches) at the bottom. Note that the Pat also allows you to adjust the rear seat for zero angle - obviously not for a backseater's comfort, but to allow you to get those few extra inches for storage. I'm also measuring about 42 inches across.
