From readings on the net, It seems the concept Patriot was equipped with 235X65X17 tires. This means (according to the tire conversion calcutor) a diameter of 29 inches and a width of 9.3 inches. Does anyone know if we can take these measures as a reference for fitting different tire sizes (without friction of course) or has the fender interior space been modified with the final design

Looks like that would be a huge jump on a stock -base Patriot from what I see in the specs... check out the image attached... I beleive that most places (aftermarket 4x4) do not recommend going over a 3% difference from stock. This is over a 6% jump. It could put too much strain on the parts... including the brakes (that'd be a bad thing).
If you get the all-terrain tire option, you would have 215/65/17 tires that are 28” tall. I would think the Patriot should be able to handle 235/65/17 tires that are 29” tall since this would only be a 3.7% change.

Very cool tire size calculator riot - props buddy
Thanks Bob but its a screen shot from Miata.net's tire size calc that was on another post here. I am planning on getting a Patriot sport 5sd with the smaller tires, re-calibatring the speedo, and installing 235/65/17's.

Thats exactly what I want to do! Let me know if you get it done first, mines coming in a week!
You are going to beat me to it. I have to sell my TJ first.
I sold the TJ already (that hurt). Now just have to find a Patriot with the options I want or order one.:pepper:
