Keeping Fingers Crossed

Well...went to the dealer today....oil change..
While I was there, I had them respray along the top edge within the engine compartment. They missed it during the rust proofing they did before I took delivery, and i would have never noticed until I had to add windshield washer fluid for the 1st time.
While in the engine area, I had the service manager check out the hoodlift issue. I grabbed the thing and let her go. His jaw dropped. I left it with him and advised him that I know of a dealership in the U.S that actually replaced these hinges for someone.
The car went in for the service and I hunted down the sales rep that sold me the car. I took him over to the patriot in the showroom by his desk, made sure no-one saw us, and grab the hood and shook it. His jaw dropped as well. He immediatley called over the Sales Manager and showed him it as well. No response but he did have a surprised look on his face. I then took my sales rep to the U-Tube address and showed him the footage.
After about an hour they were finished their work, and tho the service manager agreed it was pretty shabby work, there is no service bulliten issues by Chrysler Canada or U.S to go ahead and replace the hinges. He went on to say that he would really be worried about the liability issues if he went ahead and did the replacement hinges without Chryslers direction.
I asked him if he heard of any leaking issues, and he said that they addressed a leaker from the rear dome light. i advised him to keep an eye open within the spare tire wheel well.
The service manager would not initiate a communication with Chrysler Canada about the hood lift. I intend to do so 1st thing tomorrow morning, and I will be providing the rep the utube link.
Im convinced Chrysler won't do the right thing and step up to the plate and get the issue fixed until enough people complain. Its like they say..the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
I encourage everyone to call Chryslers head office and lets start the ball rolling.
