This from the guy who seems to be for keeping things simple and technology-free? Now I'm imagining the Enterprise with a blown fuse just floating around in space... Or Scotty yelling about the carburetor being clogged!

I preferred to date things as dd/mm/yy until I had to file things by date, which made life harder than Chinese algebra. Now I use two methods - yyyy/mm/dd for all things business or legal, and dd/mm/yy for personal use.

Well.........Actually I would prefer we Write it out using names and numbers. July 4, 1776 for example. But if we insist on just using just numbers, I like the stardate.

That would have been a good bit. Scotty back in a time warp fixing cars at a mom and pop garage in the 1940's.

Slightly off topic:

Does the space station give Captain Kirk a hard time about warranty issues when he brings in the Enterprise all shot up?

Example conversation:
Tech:
"Sorry Captain, it states in your warranty that all encounters with hostile alien forces are not covered under the standard warranty"

Captain:
"But those blast holes in the ship must have been caused by a.. uh..

Scotty interrupts:
"..Malfunctioning pressure equalization system."

Captain:
"I swear we were no where near any hostile forces"

I knew someone who wrote dates as Day/Month in Roman Numerals/Year, e.g. today is July 2nd, 2010. He would write 2VII10. Is that confusing or what? That's how he dated a credit application for my company.

It's POSSIBLE to change the date, but I would have to change it for everyone. I'm reluctant to change it though.
