Um, shouldn't this have come to light during the Toyota ordeal? I mean, wouldn't someone recognize that, "Hey, our pedals were made by the same people", and they would look into it then? What a bunch of ****. Shame on Chrysler for taking advantage of Toyota during their trouble, all the while knowing they used the same manufacturer! I can see the headline now; Mother of three trades in Camry for Caliber due to petal recall, only to die in firey crash due to sticky petal. Morons.

Well...at least they are trying to prevent another "sticky pedal" epidemy. What surprises me the most is that no one (neither auto companies nor the government) is forcing CTS Corp. to tell the real truth about their worldwide famous faulty gas pedals.

On the other hand, there's an AP article in Yahoo News saying that "Chrysler said it did not consider the problem a safety defect but decided to conduct a safety recall anyway" My Goodness! what a statement!!! I bet Toyota thought the same UNTIL the first claim was filed...

This really pisses me off!!

The pedals might have been made by the same company, but are they the same model/part as the defective ones in affected Toyotas?

It doesn't seem to matter whether we buy US or import anymore, luxury imports have their share of issues but very high costs, domestics have an undying reputation that "we're inferior" inside and out even though they are much better than most vehicles of 15-20 years ago, and Asian automakers use parts built and then assembled with the vehicle here in the US.... Instead of gas tanks exploding or a car barely outliving warranty, we have certain parts in cars today that absolutley refuse to stop working, like when you need them to "stop" the most...

I wonder why the Compass gas pedal would be different than the Patriot? I assume this because the 07 Patriot is not included in the recall.

I hope no recall on Jeep Patriot not good
