Here are some pictures of a 2006 Grand Vitara (http://www.summitoffroad.com/grandvitara.html) which has been modified with a 2 1/8" suspension lift and new tires. Big improvement. Proves that fully independent suspension vehicles can be modified, and there are companies who will take a shot at it.

33" TIRES FIT UNDER THERE!!! WOW! I don't care if its 'not recommended' it looks awesome. I can't wait for something like that for the Patriot. :D

I wonder why they are "not recommended"?!?!? Is it simply a CYA or is it not functional.
I do have to admit that the $220 price for the lift kit is nice.

Doesn't look like there is a lot of room under there for those 33". A little modesty (31") would still look pretty good and yet would allow for more clearance. Then again, you've got to wonder just how much that Suzuki suspension is meant to flex.

You can't use 33's because they would tear the fenders apart, particularly should you attempt to take it offroad. Just because they fit doesn't mean they're functional.
