I currently have about 37,000 miles on my vehicle and have heard it will be worth alot less once it hits 40,000. I really like what I am seeing about the Patriot, but want to see it, test drive it and see reviews before i buy. I have been searching all over the internet trying to find a release date, anyone know it?

It has already been released. It is on its way to dealers as we speak!

Generally, the more miles that you put on a vehicle, its value goes down. However, I am not aware of a sudden drop in value when a vehicle hits 40k (especially a Honda!)

In past days, there was a perceived drop in value when cars hit 100,000 miles. This was due to the fact that older vehicles were much more intensive to maintain and keep reliable and that Detroit typically made odometers that only read up to 99,999 miles.

I would be wary of that advice on the value of your vehicle, especially if it's coming from a dealership. I would consider "blue book" values that you can obtain from websites like www.kbb.com and www.nada.com as well as asking local market prices from www.autotrader.com or the classified ads in your newspaper.

Dealership make a large profit on traded-in vehicles... in many cases they make more money on used vehicles than they do new ones.

As DMAG mentioned, Jeep dealerships should be getting Patriots any day. I think a safe bet would be by the end of January. My wife and I are anxiously waiting to see one in person!
