Does anyone have an idea what a 2 year 15,000 a year lease a new Limited will run a month with not much money down. I am able to deduct about 80% of the cost as a business expense since I'm an independent contractor.

For a 2 year lease, with 6.0 % interest rate, with $1000 down (no trade-in), payments would be about $488...

Ouch! Definately need to save for a bigger down payment.

no way its 488 if you used a lease claculator you probably didnt enter a residual value or value of the lease... i leased a cherokee a few years back - sticker was 25,000 with nothing down for 250 a month - granted it was 3 years but 488 is still way too big a payment with 1000 down

I checked the "estimate payments" on Jeep's website. They don't let you estimate a lease for the patriot, but they do for the compass, so I did a compass limited 4x2 manual (for lack of any other given specifics), which is priced at 20,485. I reduced it to 19,985 to match the patriot's price, and put 1000 down. For 2 years, 15k mi/yr, the monthly payment is $378.11. For no money down, $421.96.

4wd and/or auto would be more.

3 years would be fine, cause I feel kind of stuck driving xj since it was new in 1999. I'm thinking no more than $2000 down in June or so because I need some of my deals to close so I have money for it.

You might want to wait a bit. My current GC is only 330 a month, w/ just under 2,000 down and I get 17,000 a year for two years. Sticker was around 36,000.

If your willing to shop around you get negotiate and possible wait for the new model year (2008) you can usually get a pretty good deal.
