It has been over a week that I picked up my 2008 Patriot 2.0L 2X4
I truly like the way it looks, drives and it behaves on the road.
On average mostly city driving I get 10.8 L / per 100 kms.
For mostly highway and city drive I got 9.8L / per 100kms. I have been using autodrive position. I wonder if I use the shift rather than the automatic, I will yield better consumption.

Any thoughts out there?

Jim, the mileage gets better after the break-in period of the engine. (wait at least 1000 miles)

Also, people say they get worse mileage in the winter. I'm not sure if its the fuel or the temperature. Maybe both.

I picked my 4x2 2.0L Patriot North up in late Nov and didn't give any thought to checking fuel consumption for the first 1000km. I started to monitor it and noted exactly what you noted Jim...10/100km or so at best in the city. THEN we had that warm spell a few weeks ago and bang...consumption dropped to 8/100km in town...saw 7.8 on highway 7 (80km limit) with the cruise on. Now that the temp has dropped back down to -10/-15 I noticed that the consumption has climbed back up around 10. I don't use the autostick that often but I may start if it improves mileage rates. I'll wait till spring before I get worried...I think it's definately temp sensitive.

I have 3000kms on my Patriot....mostly around town...about 1k on the hwy.

Cheers...Rick

I have a 2007 2.0L 4x2 Sport, 12,000 miles now. Your gas mileage will improve dramatically after 3 or 4,000 miles. I'll let you convert to km. I'm just too tired, well, and lazy, for that matter. Enjoy your Patriot!
