: Visor Warning Labels

Has anyone peeled off the warning labels on the front visors? There's usually two on each visor, one explaining airbags and another explaining the risk of rollover. Oddly enough my Patriot had an additional airbag warning label with French and English stuck on top of the original because that one didn't include French.

Well, I peeled the multilanguage sticker and that came off smoothly but when I started peeling the label underneath that I noticed it was tacked on a lot stronger. Needless to say, I kept trying and did manage to peel it off in strips but it left some residue on the visor. Does anyone know how to clean that off or has anyone else had any experience with this?

HHHmmmmm....
Not sure...sounds like you need something like nail polish remover, rubbing/isoprophyol alchohol...something thats clear and contains no additives. Put some on a cotton swab, and start slowly in order to see if any staining will happen. I'm inclined to believe there won't be because that stuff evaporates so fast.
I dunno if i would have peeled that off. I've had a few cars in the past and have always left them on. I agree tho, they look like crap.

Wasn't this talked about before?

There was a past thread that talked about it, just have to do some searching. I think a few folks came up with a resolution too.

The best solution is probably finding a matching fabric, or one that is a nice contrast and cover that whole side of the visor with it. I looked a picking mine off and it's far too intensive for me.

I had the bigger french and english one as well, I was coming off easy until I saw the smaller english only one. I probably would have left that one because it seemed much more secure, however, the big sticker pulled some of the little sticker so I had to go all the way. Of course there is a mark there of something sticky. Fearing to try anything on it, I went out and bought on of those CD holder visor things that covers it up just fine. However, it still bothers me. If there is an easy way to get that mark off, I would like to know it.

Try the rubbing alchohol, and cotton swab...or cotton ball...what ya got to loose at this point.
I know rubbinh alchohol takes off sticky resude from prince tags off.

Sorry, should have searched for it first!

But in case anyone else missed it, here's the solution mentioned in the other thread:

Apparently steaming/ironing is the solution. I'm just a little apprehensive about prying the visor off the headliner lol. I do have a portable steamer though so I may just try that.

This link is a great find. I already pulled our stickers off the day after we brought the Jeep home. They came off very easily. I do need to remove the adhesive though. Thanks for the link!

Again, it wasn't my find. Credit should go out to Ollie18 for the link! But thanks :)

Just an update:

I followed the technique in the link and it works pretty well. You also don't have to pry anything off like in Toyota they used, the Patriot's visors just simply screw off.

I did notice that if you iron the label while it is still on the visor and then peel it off, the adhesive is MUCH easier to iron/rub out than if you were to peel the labels off first and then iron out the adhesive residue. You still have to repeat the process a few times in either case though. Overall I am VERY pleased with the result, the residue is barely noticeable anymore and my Patriot looks MUCH sleeker without bright yellow warning labels! :)

P.S. I used a portable steamer instead of an iron.
