Hey thought some of you might be interested to see this:

This is a similar rating to the compass. I wonder when the frontal results will be tested.
PS the compass had a 4 star frontal.

Sorry if I am highjacking this thread, but it is interesting that the posted curb weight in the crash test is 3876 lbs. Compare that to the 2001 Cherokee at 3457 lbs or a 1995 Cherokee at 2983 lbs and one begins to see why comments concerning performance are surfacing. The later model Cherokee shows a torque to weight of 14.7 with the 4.0 engine and the Patriot comes in at 23.5 with the 2.4 engine and 16.9 for the 2.0 diesel. So, given the diesel's relatively flat torque curve, its performance would likely match or exceed that of the Cherokee. Must be a sweet drive with the six speed manual. Interestingly, Allpar also shows the 2.4 as a blown engine putting out a whopping 300HP/260 ft lbs which would make one fast rally Patriot. Might be some interesting options looming in the future with the turbo diesel or 2.4.

5 star side. 4 star roll over. Not bad.
